Marksmanship – 21 Jan 2023
Marksmanship at Connaught Range on Saturday, 21 Jan from 0800hrs to 1200hrs. The address is 5 Brouillette Blvd. Dress is FTUs. If you do not have FTUs, civilian attire is acceptable. When signing up, only sign up for one time slot. If you are a new shooter (never shot with cadets) please sign up for the 1100hrs slot if you can. JUNIOR GROUND SCHOOL

872 is starting up its Junior Ground School program!
Cadets who have an interest in flying and aviation who want to dig deeper into the theory than the classes on Wednesdays provide, can come out to Junior Ground School.
 
Cadets aged 12-15 can attend the program and start to prepare themselves for future applications to the Glider and Power Training Courses when they turn 16 and 17 respectively.

EFFECTIVE SPEAKING

The 872 effective speaking program is a great chance for cadets to learn and practice their speaking abilities with feedback and a welcoming environment. The program is a seven-week course that will run every Monday, from 1900hrs to 2100hrs at Maurice Lapointe H.S. The program is set to start on January 30th. ROCKETRY PROGRAM

The Rocketry Program is a nine-week program that aims to cultivate an interest in rocket technology and provide specialty education in the aerospace field. This program is for cadets in Level 3 or higher who want to learn about rocket science in an environment that combines theory with practice and is based on NASA’s educational program. Science and experimentation go hand in hand, progressing from simple projects to building and launching solid fuel rockets. AMATEUR RADIO

This course will set you on the path to obtain your Amateur Radio license, opening the door to a whole new world. As a radio operator, you’ll be able to communicate with people all over the continent, across the ocean, or even in space! You will learn in depth about radio and electronics, and with some extra effort at home you can pass the license exam. This license will get you a spot at an exciting youth event organized by Radio Amateurs of Canada this summer in Ottawa.

FITNESS FRIDAYS

Fitness Fridays are resuming!
The Cadet Fitness Assessment is a tool used for measuring the personal fitness level of cadets. It asses cardiovascular endurance, muscular strength and muscular flexibility.
The sign-up sheet for this activity has been updated with slots open on the next two Friday evenings.  The groups are either 18:30-20:00 or 20:00-21:30 at Maurice Lapointe High School.
