DoE Participant Meeting (706, 872, 742): Apr 23, 2020, 7:30 p.m. Eastern Time (US and Canada) – one hour

For all cadets enrolled in the Duke of Edinburgh program, or those who are interested and will be at least 14 years old in the near future, we have arranged an online meeting on April 23. The information is detailed below:

The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award (DoE) is a program that promotes independent activities, goal setting, and personal development supported by the Cadet program. It is supported by online tools (activity tracker, videos, access to award leaders) that can be used to start or continue this program – even during Covid-19. Although not all activities associated with the program can be pursued, there is a lot you can do; it is also a way to connect online with fellow cadets in the program during these challenging times.

We invite all cadets to join us for a one-hour information session (link will be provided) on Thursday, April 23rd at 18:30 (6:30 p.m.). Karen Gormley, Regional Coordinator, will give a talk introducing the DoE, how it works and how to enroll. Current award holders will share their experiences doing the program.

A DoE participant meeting will take place immediately afterwards at 19:30 (7:30 p.m.) for cadets who have already enrolled. Award Leaders, Alta Espinosa (872, Ottawa Valley) and Laura-Lee Balkwill (706) will be on hand to check in with each participant and to discuss how to progress your award during a global pandemic.

So please mark your calendars and join us next Thursday. To join email Alta at dukeofed@872-squadron-rcac.ca by 22 April and you will get an email returned to you with the link and further information.
