Bottle Drive Fundraiser

872 Squadron Bottle Drive – Cadet Information

  • The bottle drive will be held on February 17, 2024, between 10 am and 2 pm.  You do not have to collect bottles this entire time, but make sure it is in between these hours.
  • Flyers will be provided to you in advance so you can let people in your neighbourhood know to save their empties and that you’ll be coming on February 17 to pick them up. Keep track of which houses you left a flyer and make sure you go back to all of them on the day of the bottle drive.
    If you were absent when flyers were distributed, or if you need more, you can pick them up at weekly cadet activities or from 2 Thunderbird Crescent in Bridlewood (packs of flyers will be left in the mailbox on the front porch).
  • On the day of the bottle drive, you should be in uniform (if you have one). Make sure it is worn properly and is well turned out. Above all, you should be dressed for the weather!
  • For safety reasons, you should be with your parent(s) or guardian(s) while doing the bottle drive. Do not go inside anyone’s home; if they invite you in, politely say that you will wait outside. Don’t accept any food or drink.
  • Bring bags or boxes in case there are loose bottles or cans. Consider wearing gloves when handling the empties.
  • Once you are done collecting bottles and cans, deliver them right away to 190 Mojave Crescent in Stittsville. This is the home of one of our Sponsoring Committee members where a few committee members will be waiting for your drop-off. They will sort the empties in the garage and return them to the beer store. Do not be later than 3 pm.
  • Any cadets who participate in the bottle drive will be entered in a draw for a gift card and canteen voucher. The flight that has the greatest percentage of participants will be awarded the Gronk for March.
    Remember, your Cadet program depends on fundraising to run activities and buy equipment/resources. Please do your best to help out!
