Week 4 Announcements

Level 2A Night Hike – Wednesday, October 16
Cadets from level 2A will be participating in a night hike during Wednesday’s training session.  The cadets from 2A will report to the front lobby after attendance has been taken by their flight commander.  They are to wear FTUs with:
  • layered clothing, suitable for the cold weather (including a jacket, toque and gloves)
  • appropriate comfortable and good fitting footwear, such as hiking boots, field training boots or suitable outdoor shoes.  No parade boots.
  • headlamp 
  • water bottle

Supply Night – Recruit Bravo

This Friday’s Supply Night is limited to Level 1 “Bravo” for initial uniform issue.

Please bring only one parent (due to limited space in the facility) and a bag to carry your kit home. Please no baggy clothes or excessive layers so cadets can try things on.

Supply Location: Dymon Storage Kanata, 6:30pm to 8:30pm

Ceremonial Drill Practice

Ceremonial drill instruction is held every Tuesday evening, 7:00pm – 9:00pm at Glen Cairn Public School (gymnasium). All levels are welcome.

Flag Party Try-outs will take place in the coming weeks, stay tuned on Teams for updates.

Ceremonial Dress Competition will be held in the spring (dates to be confirmed), try-outs for the teams will be announced.  For news and updates on order of dress and, for any changes, and cancellations, please check Teams. Questions or comments should be sent via email or teams chat.

 

Gliding Familiarization Day: Rescheduled – Saturday, October 19

Those who signed up and are approved to attend this session of Gliding Familiarization, a Teams channel has been created for you with instructions and details.

Those no longer able to attend, please notify OCdt Ginn via the Teams channel as soon as possible.

 

Biathlon Team

Biathlon team will begin practices on Saturday, October 19 (location to be announced). A sign-sheet will be posted for returning Angry Unicorn team members interested in competing again this year. Once the number of available spots left are known, information for try-outs will be communicated. Biathlon is for Level 3 and up.

Fall FTX 2024 (Field Training Exercise)

Permission forms were given out at final parade yesterday. Any cadet wishing to attend the Fall FTX must return the signed permission slip no later than October 23. A full kit list has been included for cadets to keep and use for packing for the event. Transportation and meals are included. Questions or comments should be sent via email or Teams.
